Good list. CURSOR_SHARING is probably my least favorite Band-Aid as well, but all those are good. I wasn't familiar with the 10261 event by the way. Thanks for pointing that one out.

Not favorite, but usable (by some people) Oracle band-aids:
1) CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE
2) any underscore parameter with non-default value
3) grant dba to  app_user :)
4) commit_write = 'batch,nowait'
5) event 10261
6) indexes rebuilding</description>
